Woman Duped and Assaulted by Man Met on Matrimonial Site
A 25-year-old woman from Secunderabad was allegedly deceived and assaulted by a private bank employee she met through a matrimonial site. The accused, Sangram from Odisha, promised marriage but later exploited her both financially and sexually.
Incident Details
The woman, employed at a private firm, connected with Sangram two months ago. After gaining her trust, Sangram expressed his intent to visit her in Secunderabad under the pretense of official work. During his visit, he allegedly assaulted her at her flat and continued to stay with her, threatening her with dire consequences if she reported the matter.
Financial Exploitation
Sangram coerced the woman into giving him over 5 lakh rupees for trading investments and pressured her into buying a car, an air conditioner, a new television, and an iPhone for him. When she confronted him about his actions, he threatened to harm her family if she spoke out.
Police Action
Tukaramgate police have registered a case of cheating and assault and have launched an investigation. M Shanker, SHO of Tukaramgate, stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, who fled the woman's flat three days ago but continues to harass her through messages and calls.
