Hyderabad Priest Sentenced to Life for Murdering Lover and Hiding Body
A chilling crime that shocked Hyderabad has reached its conclusion, as a local court sentenced priest Venkata Sai Surya Krishna to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of Apsara, a woman he was in a relationship with. The verdict also includes an additional seven years for tampering with evidence.
The investigation revealed that Sai Krishna, who was already married, had deceived Apsara with false promises of marriage. Their affair continued for some time until Apsara began pressuring him to make their relationship official. Unwilling to face the consequences, Krishna hatched a sinister plan to get rid of her.
On June 3, 2023, he lured Apsara with a promise of a trip to Coimbatore. That night, they dined at Rallaguda and visited a gaushala in Sultanpally. However, in the early hours of June 4, Krishna took her to a deserted spot in Narkhoda village near Shamshabad and brutally bludgeoned her to death with a stone.
With the crime committed, he transported her body to Saroor Nagar, where he stuffed it inside a drainage manhole near the SRO office, sealed it with cement, and later reported her missing to mislead authorities.
For days, Krishna went about his routine, believing he had covered his tracks. However, the police investigation into the missing person case uncovered damning evidence. It was revealed that Krishna had even searched online for ways to commit and conceal the crime, leading to his swift arrest.
During the trial, the court found overwhelming proof of his premeditated actions and attempts to destroy evidence. With the guilty verdict now in place, justice has been served for Apsara, bringing closure to a case that gripped the city.
