Tragic End in Bengaluru as Woman’s Body Found in Suitcase, Husband Arrested
A horrifying crime has come to light in Bengaluru, where a woman’s body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase at a residence near Hulimavu. The victim, 32-year-old Gauri Anil Sambekar, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Rakesh Sambekar, who later fled to Pune. Following an intensive search, police arrested him in Pune and are bringing him back to Bengaluru for further investigation.
According to sources, Rakesh confessed to the crime over a phone call to Gauri’s parents, prompting them to alert the authorities. Acting on this information, local police, in coordination with Maharashtra police, launched an investigation.
Law enforcement teams arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call regarding a suspected suicide. However, upon forced entry into the locked house, they discovered a suitcase in the bathroom. When forensic experts opened it, they found Gauri’s lifeless body inside.
Authorities have confirmed that the body was intact, though it bore multiple injury marks, suggesting a violent assault. The exact cause of death will be determined after a postmortem examination.
Tracking Rakesh’s movements through his phone records, police traced him to Pune, where he was swiftly detained. A special team from Bengaluru has been dispatched to bring him back for questioning and legal proceedings.
Investigators are now working to uncover the motive behind the crime. Reports suggest that the couple had moved to Bengaluru just two months ago from Maharashtra. Rakesh was employed as a project manager in an IT company, while Gauri was a homemaker actively searching for job opportunities.
As the case unfolds, authorities are piecing together the events leading up to the tragic incident. Further details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
