Betrayed and Trapped A Young IT Engineer’s Nightmare of Deception and Assault
A harrowing case has emerged from Pune, where a young IT engineer fell victim to a web of lies, betrayal, and horrific abuse. The woman, originally from Karnataka, worked at a reputed IT firm in Pune and had no idea that a simple social media connection would turn her life upside down.
In 2021, she met Tamim Harsalla Khan through Facebook. He presented himself as the son of a wealthy businessman, flaunting luxury cars and an extravagant lifestyle to gain her trust. Over time, their conversations turned into a relationship, and he convinced her to meet him in Mumbai with promises of marriage.
Their first meeting took place at a hotel in Kandivali, where he drugged her soft drink and sexually assaulted her. The ordeal didn’t end there. He then took her to Pune, where he assaulted her again before calling three of his friends to commit further atrocities.
Beyond physical abuse, the accused also manipulated her financially. He took explicit photos of her and used them to blackmail her into giving him ₹10 lakh. Under the false pretense of starting a business, he coerced her into taking loans, extorting an additional ₹30 lakh and two iPhones. When she finally gathered the courage to demand her money back, she was brutally beaten.
Unable to endure the trauma any longer, the victim sought legal help. A case has now been registered against Khan and his accomplices at Kalepadal Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
Legal experts assisting in the case have strongly condemned the incident, stressing the need for swift justice. They emphasized that such crimes must not go unpunished and that those responsible should face the full extent of the law.
As authorities continue their investigation, this case serves as a grim reminder of how deception and manipulation can lead to unimaginable suffering.
