Woman Detained for Hoax Bomb Threat to Stop Boyfriend's Flight at Bengaluru Airport
In a bizarre attempt to stop her boyfriend from flying, a 29-year-old woman from Pune has landed in legal trouble after making a hoax bomb threat call to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). The woman, identified as Indra Rajwar, claimed that her boyfriend, Mir Raza Mehdi, was carrying a bomb in his luggage to prevent him from boarding his flight to Mumbai.
The incident occurred on June 26, triggering immediate police action and the registration of an FIR under IPC Section 505(1)(B) for making statements causing public mischief. According to reports, Rajwar called the airport's helpline and falsely informed them about the bomb threat. Authorities swiftly responded by thoroughly searching Mehdi, but no explosives were found, confirming the call as a hoax.
Further investigation revealed that both Rajwar and Mehdi were at the airport that evening, having booked separate flights to Mumbai. They were seen talking in the departure lounge before the hoax call was made. Rajwar later admitted to making the false report due to personal issues with Mehdi and her desire to stop his departure.
Rajwar was detained and taken to the KIA police station, where she confessed to the false alarm. Police investigations are ongoing, and further updates are awaited.
This incident highlights the severe legal consequences of making hoax bomb threats, emphasizing the importance of responsible behavior, especially in sensitive locations like airports.
