Shocking Incident at Haldwani Railway Station as Youth Gets Electrocuted After Climbing Train Roof



A shocking incident unfolded at the railway station when a young man unexpectedly climbed onto the roof of a stationary train. As he moved forward, he came in contact with a high-voltage overhead line, suffering severe burns from the electric shock before falling to the ground. The loud sound of the electrocution alerted people nearby, who immediately informed railway staff. The injured youth was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Incident Details and Victim's Identity

The unfortunate event took place on Monday and involved a 20-year-old youth named Rohit Daseela, a resident of Ganai village in Pithoragarh district. According to reports, Rohit arrived at Kathgodam Railway Station and was seen standing on platform number two for a while before unexpectedly climbing onto the roof of a stationary train. While walking on the roof, his right hand accidentally touched the high-voltage electric line above the railway track. A sudden loud explosion was heard as smoke rose, and he was thrown off the train due to the shock, landing directly on the ground with severe burns.

Swift Action by Railway Staff and Locals

Upon hearing the loud noise, panic spread among passengers and railway staff present at the platform. The Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel on duty, including officers Anil Kumar and Rajkumar, immediately took action. They first attempted to contact the 108 ambulance service, but when an ambulance was unavailable, they quickly arranged a private vehicle to transport Rohit to Base Hospital. Considering the severity of his condition, he was later referred to a higher medical center at Sushila Tiwari Hospital for advanced treatment.

Rohit is currently receiving medical care, and his condition is being closely monitored by doctors. This tragic incident highlights the dangers of climbing onto trains and coming into contact with live electrical wires.
