Doctor Calls Out 5-Star Pune Hotel for Poor Hygiene and Customer Service
A luxury hotel in Pune is facing backlash after a doctor raised serious concerns about hygiene and customer service. She alleged that her room was changed without prior notice and later discovered a used comb among the amenities, calling it "disgusting and unhygienic."
The Ayurvedic doctor took to social media to share her experience, stating that upon check-in, her room was silently switched without explanation, apology, or courtesy. Despite this, she chose to adjust to the situation. However, after returning from the hotel's spa, she opened a sealed comb package only to find it appeared to have been used, leading her to question whether the hotel was recycling personal hygiene items.
"If they're reusing combs, what else are they reusing? Toothbrushes? The thought itself is horrifying," she wrote in her post.
The situation escalated when she approached the general manager to report the issue. Instead of addressing her concerns professionally, she alleged that he responded with hostility, dismissing her complaint in a rude and condescending manner.
"When I pointed out the impact of social media on a hotel's reputation, he became aggressive and told me to do whatever I wanted," she claimed. She further stated that when she asked for his permission to take a picture, he reacted even more negatively.
Outraged by the experience, she questioned the hotel's hygiene standards and accused it of failing to provide quality service. "A 5-star hotel with zero hygiene standards and a general manager who bullies customers? Completely unacceptable!"
The post quickly gained traction online, with several users sharing their own unpleasant experiences at the same hotel chain. One user recounted an instance where they were assigned a room that had not yet been vacated by the previous guests, further adding to the growing concerns about the hotel's management and service quality.
As discussions continue, the incident has sparked a broader debate about hygiene and service standards in luxury hotels across the country.
Checked in to Hyatt Pune, only to find my room was changed without any prior intimation. No explanation, no apology, no courtesy. Just a silent switch. But I accommodated.
