Ahmedabad Woman Files Complaint Against Husband for Blackmailing with Private Photos

A woman from Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad, has lodged a police complaint against her husband, accusing him of blackmail and online harassment after she sought a divorce. The man allegedly posted her private photos on social media and threatened to leak more intimate content to the public.

Husband Misuses Social Media Access for Blackmail

The woman, originally married to a man from Goraj near Vadodara, lived with her in-laws after marriage. During this time, she used Instagram, which her husband insisted on managing alongside her. At one point, she developed skin allergies on her chest and back and was undergoing treatment. During a video call with her husband, he secretly recorded the conversation without her knowledge.

Threats Escalate After Divorce Request

As tensions grew in their marriage, the woman moved back to Ahmedabad to stay with her parents and initiated divorce proceedings. Enraged by this, her husband allegedly took screenshots from the secretly recorded video and used them as her WhatsApp display picture and Instagram post. When she confronted him, he threatened to release the full video online.

Police Launch Investigation

Following her complaint, the Ghatlodia police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. Authorities are now probing the incident to take necessary legal action against the accused.
