SSP Cracks Down on Negligence: 10 Police Officers Sent to Line Duty Over Drug Trafficking Lapses
In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prahlad Narayan Meena conducted a crime review meeting today in Nainital. During the meeting, six police outpost in-charges and four police personnel were sent to line duty for negligence in handling drug-related cases. The SSP also issued strict orders to dismantle drug mafias and their networks. To boost morale, officers who demonstrated outstanding performance were honored for their dedication.
The officers penalized for negligence include Sub-Inspector Babita (Haldwani Police Station), Sub-Inspector Shyam Singh Bora (Haldwani Police Station), Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar (Medical Outpost In-Charge), Sub-Inspector Vijay Kumar (Hiranagar Outpost In-Charge), Sub-Inspector Jagdeep Singh Negi (TP Nagar Outpost In-Charge), Sub-Inspector Bhuvan Singh Rana (Mandi Outpost In-Charge), Sub-Inspector Devendra Singh Rana (Bhotia Padav Outpost In-Charge), Sub-Inspector Ramesh Chandra Pant (Kotabagh Outpost In-Charge), along with ANTF constables Arvind Karki and Naveen Kumar.
SSP Meena reaffirmed his commitment to making "Drug-Free Devbhoomi Mission 2025" a success, instructing all police stations, outposts, and Special Operations Group (SOG) teams to take stringent action. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has also been directed to remain proactive and crack down on those involved in the illegal drug trade.
Nainital Police has been running an aggressive anti-drug campaign, taking significant action against criminals in recent days. SSP Meena made it clear that any negligence in tackling drug-related crimes will not be tolerated, and further action will be taken against officers failing in their duty. A drug-free society can only be achieved if law enforcement remains vigilant and committed to the cause.
