Essential Updates for Entry and Exit at Prayagraj Railway Stations During Mauni Amavasya Mela

Planning to visit Prayagraj for the grand Mauni Amavasya during the Maha Kumbh? With millions of devotees expected to arrive, the railway authorities have implemented special entry and exit arrangements across key railway stations, including Prayagraj Junction, Naini, Chheoki, and Subedarganj. These changes are designed to manage the massive influx of visitors while ensuring a safe and smooth experience for everyone.

The new system will remain in effect for four days, starting January 28 and ending January 31. Here’s everything you need to know about the updated plans to navigate through the stations effortlessly.

Railway authorities are anticipating a crowd of around 10 crore people arriving in Prayagraj for the holy dip on Mauni Amavasya. To ensure crowd control, a strategic entry and exit system has been put in place. Devotees will enter and exit stations through separate sides to avoid congestion.

Key Changes at Prayagraj Junction

  • Entry for Mauni Amavasya will be allowed only from the City Side (Platform No. 1).
  • Exit will be routed exclusively through the Civil Lines Side (Platform No. 6).
  • Passengers with reserved tickets will have a dedicated entry through Gate No. 5 on the City Side.
  • For unreserved passengers, color-coded shelters will serve as waiting areas where tickets can be purchased via counters, vending machines, or mobile ticketing services.

To further streamline crowd management, a holding area in Khusro Bagh has been set up to accommodate over one lakh passengers at a time.

Special Arrangements at Naini, Chheoki, and Subedarganj Stations

  • Naini Junction: Entry will be permitted from the Station Road, while exit will be directed through the Goods Shed Side. Reserved ticket holders can enter via Gate No. 2.
  • Chheoki Station: Passengers will enter from the COD Road (connecting Prayagraj-Mirzapur Highway) and exit via the GEC Naini Road. Reserved passengers will have a separate entry through Gate No. 2.
  • Subedarganj Station: Entry will be allowed from the Jhalwa-Kaushambi Road, while exit will be through the GT Road. Gate No. 3 will be reserved for passengers with tickets.

With over 13 crore pilgrims already having taken a holy dip at the Sangam during the Maha Kumbh, Mauni Amavasya is expected to witness an even larger turnout. To make your journey smooth and stress-free, plan ahead and follow the designated entry and exit points at the stations.

Don’t forget to check the latest updates from railway authorities and book your tickets in advance. Together, let’s make this spiritual journey safe, peaceful, and memorable!
