Nepalese Suspect Escapes Police Custody: Security Protocols Under Scrutiny

In a dramatic turn of events, a Nepalese national detained by police for questioning in connection with a burglary case managed to escape custody, leaving authorities scrambling in search of him. Despite an extensive manhunt that stretched from urban areas to rural outskirts, the fugitive remains at large, raising serious concerns about the security protocols in place.

The incident unfolded late Sunday evening at the RTO police outpost in Mukhani, where Prem Pal, a Nepalese resident, was being interrogated. He was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in a burglary that occurred a month and a half ago at the residence of a local businessman, resulting in the theft of valuables worth lakhs of rupees.

As per reports, the suspect requested to use the bathroom during questioning. Without sufficient precaution, officers allowed him access, seemingly unaware of what was about to unfold. Seizing the opportunity, Prem Pal evaded surveillance and disappeared into the night, leaving officers stunned.

Realizing the suspect’s escape, police launched an immediate search operation, deploying vehicles and personnel to comb through the surrounding areas. Despite their best efforts, the fugitive managed to elude capture. As of the latest update, no leads have emerged regarding his whereabouts.

Approximately 7 to 8 police personnel have been assigned to the case, but their efforts have yet to yield results. SP City Prakash Chandra assured the public that the fugitive is being actively sought and that corrective steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
