Trump World Centre to Rise in Pune as The Trump Organization Expands in India
The Trump Organization has set its sights on India once again, unveiling plans for a grand commercial tower in Pune. Dubbed "Trump World Centre," the project is being developed in collaboration with Indian real estate firms Tribeca Developers and Kundan Spaces. This marks the company's first venture into commercial real estate in the country, further strengthening its presence in its largest market outside the United States.
With four Trump-branded residential complexes already established in India, the country has proven to be a lucrative market for the former U.S. president’s family business. The newly announced project in Pune is expected to generate sales exceeding $289.6 million and will span over 1.6 million square feet. The centerpiece of the development will be two towering glass structures, each rising more than 27 floors and offering premium office spaces.
Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization and son of Donald Trump, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. "India has embraced the Trump brand with remarkable enthusiasm. After several successful residential projects, we are thrilled to launch our first commercial development here," he said in a statement.
The Trump Organization's international ventures have often sparked discussions about potential conflicts of interest, given Donald Trump’s political influence. While he is no longer directly involved in managing the company, his family’s business dealings overseas remain a subject of scrutiny.
India’s real estate market has shown steady growth, particularly in the commercial sector. According to a report by real estate management firm JLL, office space leasing across the country’s top seven cities saw a 23 percent year-on-year increase in 2024. Pune, known for its thriving IT and business ecosystem, has become an attractive destination for global investors and developers.
This latest venture adds another feather to The Trump Organization’s cap, as it continues to expand its footprint in India’s booming real estate landscape. With the Trump World Centre poised to reshape Pune’s skyline, the city is set to witness yet another architectural marvel in its rapidly evolving business district.
