Man Fatally Shot During Roadside Birthday Celebration in Pune

A tragic altercation over a roadside birthday celebration in Pune resulted in the death of a 37-year-old man after he was shot during a confrontation late Thursday night in the Dehu Road area of Pimpri Chinchwad.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred when a group of three to four individuals arrived on two motorcycles at a bylane where complainant Nandkishor Yadav’s niece’s birthday celebration was taking place. The group questioned why the event was being held in a public space, which led to a heated exchange.

As tensions escalated, Yadav urged the group to leave. However, one of the individuals became aggressive and struck him in the face with a chair. Sensing the situation spiraling out of control, Yadav’s friend, Vikram Guruswami Reddy, stepped in to diffuse the conflict. Unfortunately, instead of de-escalating, the confrontation took a deadly turn when one of the assailants pulled out a firearm and shot Reddy.

Bystanders immediately rushed Reddy to a nearby hospital, but despite the medical team’s efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The tragic incident has left the community in shock, raising concerns about public safety and violence in social gatherings.

Law enforcement officials have identified the suspects involved and launched a thorough investigation. Authorities are actively pursuing leads and gathering evidence to ensure swift justice for the victim and his family.
