World's smallest guitar of 3cm built by Prakash Chandra Upadhyay - Limca Book of Records

Prakash Chandra Upadhyay, a renowned local artist from Haldwani, has added yet another remarkable achievement to his already impressive list of accolades. Known for his creative brilliance, Prakash, who works in the pathology department of the Government Medical College in Haldwani, has crafted the world’s smallest guitar, earning him a coveted place in the Limca Book of Records. This is not his first foray into world records, as he already holds six individual world records and three group world records to his name. His talent has also been recognized internationally, with a feature in the prestigious 2019 edition of the American Golden Book of World Records.

This time, Prakash's groundbreaking creation is a guitar measuring just three centimeters in length, setting a new world record in the individual category. Crafted from sandalwood and fitted with copper, aluminum strings, and tiny pins, this miniature masterpiece is not only visually stunning but also functional, with its sound audible through a microphone. Remarkably, Prakash completed this intricate guitar in under 4 hours and 30 minutes. His creation, made on April 29, 2020, was officially entered into the Limca Book of Records for the 2021-2022 edition.

This is not Prakash’s first venture into miniature craftsmanship. In 2017, he made the world’s smallest handcrafted spinning wheel, measuring just 56 mm, which earned him a spot in the Limca Book of Records that year. However, he surpassed his own achievement by crafting an even smaller spinning wheel, measuring an astonishing 4.50 mm by 3.50 mm by 3.50 mm, which was recorded in the Limca Book of World Records in 2019.

Prakash Upadhyay’s dedication to his craft and his ability to create world-record-breaking pieces has cemented his reputation as a true artist, continually pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in the world of miniature art.
