Bike Falls Off Bridge, Two Young Men Lose Their Lives

A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Nainital district. On Sunday evening, a bike lost control and plunged 70 feet into a deep gorge near Matiyali Band on the Nainital-Haldwani road. Both riders tragically lost their lives in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Vaibhav Negi and Arpit Chauhan. Vaibhav was a resident of Joy Villa Compound in Nainital. On Sunday, he visited Haldwani with his friend Arpit. The tragic accident occurred while they were returning to Nainital in the evening. It is reported that the bike suddenly went out of control, leading to the fatal mishap.

Upon receiving the information, Jyolikot Police, Fire Department, and SDRF teams rushed to the spot. After an hour-long rescue operation, both young men were retrieved from the gorge in critical condition. They were rushed to Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani via a 108 ambulance, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.

The families of the victims are in deep mourning following the tragedy. The police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them for postmortem. According to locals, this area has been a site of frequent accidents in the past.

This incident once again highlights the lack of adequate safety measures on the Nainital-Haldwani road. Local residents point out that the roadside barriers in the area are either insufficient or poorly maintained, increasing the risk of such accidents. There is a growing demand for the administration to implement stricter safety measures to prevent future mishaps.

This tragic event serves as a grim reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance. Authorities must take immediate action to prevent such accidents and ensure safe travel for all.
