Pune Man's Pizza Night Turns Nightmare After Finding Knife Fragment in Domino's Order
A casual pizza night took a shocking turn for Arun Kapse, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, when he discovered a piece of a knife cutter embedded in a pizza he ordered from Domino’s. The incident occurred on Friday after Kapse placed an order worth ₹596 from the Domino’s outlet at Jai Ganesh Empire, Spine Road.
While enjoying his meal, Kapse felt a sharp object pierce him. To his horror, it was a fragment of a knife cutter lodged in the pizza. “I could have been seriously injured. It was an utterly distressing experience,” he shared.
Recounting the ordeal, Kapse said, “I ordered a pizza from Domino's on Friday. I paid ₹596 for the pizza. But while eating, I suddenly felt a sharp object. When I pulled it out, I realized it was part of a knife.”
Manager's Initial Dismissal and Apology
Kapse immediately contacted the outlet manager, who initially dismissed his claims. However, upon receiving photographic evidence of the knife fragment, the manager visited Kapse’s residence. According to Kapse, the manager admitted the mistake and attempted to resolve the matter discreetly by offering not to charge for the pizza.
“The manager admitted fault and asked me not to share the incident on social media, offering to waive the cost of the pizza. Such an approach is unacceptable,” Kapse stated.
Calls for Accountability
The ordeal has left Kapse deeply shaken. “This isn’t just negligence; it’s a serious safety hazard. I urge everyone to avoid buying pizzas from that outlet. Such carelessness cannot be tolerated,” he said.
Kapse has announced plans to lodge a formal complaint with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future. The Domino’s manager reportedly apologized, admitting the fragment was part of a knife cutter.
This incident has raised concerns about food safety and quality control at the outlet, with Kapse urging authorities to take stringent action.
