Controversial Incident: IAS Trainee Pooja Khedkar's Mother Allegedly Threatens Pune Farmer with Pistol

In a troubling development, IAS trainee and Assistant Collector Pooja Khedkar's mother, Manorama Khedkar, has been accused of threatening a Pune farmer with a pistol to coerce him into selling his land. The incident, which took place in the Mulshi region two months ago, has come to light through recently surfaced videos.

The videos depict Manorama Khedkar brandishing a pistol and engaging in a heated argument with the farmer over a land dispute. She was accompanied by a team of male bouncers and female security personnel during the confrontation. The farmers in the area have claimed that they attempted to file a police complaint but were not entertained due to alleged political pressure. They are now demanding a thorough investigation into the incident.

Khedkar Family's Land Holdings

Records reveal that the Khedkar family owns over 25 acres of land in Pune and has been attempting to expand their holdings by pressuring neighboring farmers to sell their land. However, most farmers have resisted these efforts.

Transfer and Investigations

Following recent controversies, Pooja Khedkar was transferred from the Pune Collectorate to the Washim Collectorate as an Assistant Collector, where she assumed charge on July 11. Independent probes by both the Centre and state have been initiated against her regarding various allegations, including issues related to her OBC non-creamy layer certificate, medical records, and traffic violations.

Traffic Police Notice

The Pune Traffic Police have served Pooja Khedkar a notice to investigate her private Audi A4 car, which was illegally fitted with 'Maharashtra Government' stickers and a beacon light, privileges not entitled to an IAS trainee.

Municipal Corporation Action

In a related development, a team from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), equipped with two vans and a bulldozer, was stationed outside Pooja Khedkar’s residence. The reasons for this action are not immediately clear.
