Dehradun Woman and Male Accomplice Arrested for Strangling Husband to Death
A woman and her male friend were arrested on Sunday in Dehradun for allegedly strangling her 44-year-old husband to death at their home in Rajpur. The woman, Zaitunnisha, 26, who had three children with the deceased, was in a relationship with Lakhbir Singh, a 24-year-old man from Haridwar. According to the Dehradun SSP Daleep Singh Kunwar, the two were arrested after confessing to the crime during questioning. The police were informed about the body of the deceased, Amjad Hussain, found near a stream in Rajpur, and later questioned his wife who initially misled the police but later confessed to killing her husband with the help of Singh. The duo had planned to get rid of Hussain as they wanted to live together. They served alcohol to him and once he was intoxicated, they strangled him to death with a scarf. The children woke up but were scolded and asked to go back to sleep before the body was dumped in the stream amid rain. The duo has been charged with murder and booked under relevant IPC sections. They have been sent to jail after being presented before a local court.
