Lakhimpur Kheri Teenager Found Dead in Dehradun Forest as Police Arrest Six Suspects

A missing teenage girl from Lakhimpur Kheri was found dead in a forest near Dehradun. Authorities have arrested six individuals, including her alleged boyfriend, on charges of abduction, assault, and murder.

Girl Lured Away and Killed

The 17-year-old girl, a resident of a village in Padhua police station area, had been missing for five days. Reports indicate that a young man from another community manipulated her into leaving home. On Thursday, her lifeless body was discovered in the forested area of Dehradun. Investigations suggest that the perpetrators assaulted her before taking her life and disposing of the body.

Police Investigation and Arrests

The victim’s father reported her disappearance on January 25 around 5 PM. After a desperate search, he filed a complaint against 11 individuals. Given the interfaith nature of the case, police swiftly launched an investigation. CCTV footage revealed the girl riding on a motorcycle with the accused, which was later tracked to Najibabad.

Acting on gathered intelligence, Inspector Sandeep Yadav and his team from the Dhakherwa police outpost traced the accused to Dehradun. The police apprehended six suspects, including the prime accused, Chotu alias Asif. Their interrogation led investigators to the remote forest area in Ramnagar, where the victim's body was recovered. The girl's injuries, including marks on her face and neck, suggest she suffered before being murdered. Authorities have sent her remains for post-mortem examination.

Family Alleges Forced Conversion Motive

The victim's father claims that the accused individuals sought to coerce his daughter into converting her faith. When she resisted, they allegedly assaulted her before strangling her to death.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

According to Padhua police station in-charge Nirala Tiwari, six individuals, including Asif, Salman, Rajab, and Zubair, have been taken into custody. The investigation continues as officials gather additional evidence to ensure justice for the victim.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent such heinous crimes. The case has sparked widespread concern, with demands for strict action against the accused.
