In a major step toward sustainable automotive innovation, Suzuki Motor Corporation and Tata Elxsi have joined forces to establish a cutting-edge offshore development centre in Pune, India. Officially inaugurated on November 18, 2024, this collaboration is set to revolutionize green mobility by leveraging advanced engineering, eco-friendly materials, and cutting-edge design solutions.

The development centre will focus on creating lightweight designs, safety engineering, and next-generation powertrains. It aims to spearhead innovation in electric, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles while advancing software-defined vehicles. Suzuki's Chief Technology Officer, Katsuhiro Kato, highlighted the significance of this partnership in pushing the boundaries of connected, autonomous, shared, and electric vehicle technologies. Tata Elxsi, renowned for its design-led, digital-first approach, brings over three decades of expertise to the partnership. Manoj Raghavan, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Elxsi, noted the alignment of the company’s sustainability vision with Suzuki’s green mobility goals. Tata Elxsi, employing over 13,000 engineers worldwide, has a strong track record in providing design and technology services to diverse sectors, including automotive, healthcare, and transportation.

The new centre aims to enhance time-to-market for Suzuki’s products by employing advanced simulations and engineering solutions. By integrating lightweight materials and innovative safety features, the partnership is expected to reduce energy consumption while ensuring superior vehicle performance.

The announcement positively impacted the stock market, with Tata Elxsi Limited’s shares trading at ₹6,496.85, reflecting a 1.92% increase by mid-day trading on the NSE.
