Road Rage Incident in Bengaluru Leaves Child Injured

In a disturbing case of road rage, a family in Bengaluru's Kasavanahalli area was assaulted by a group of individuals who hurled stones at their vehicle, resulting in an injury to a child inside. The attack occurred on Wednesday, highlighting growing concerns about safety on the city’s roads.

According to reports, the family was driving when the group demanded they stop. When the driver, Anoop, refused to comply with their demands, the assailants retaliated by smashing stones against the car windows. As a result, the glass shattered, injuring a child seated in the back. The injured child was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment.

Anoop later shared his experience on social media, posting a video of the attack along with a message detailing the incident. He expressed his shock and concern, noting, “Rowdies attacked my car near Amrutha College in Kasavanahalli. They threw a stone at my car, and my child is hospitalized.” This incident has since gained traction online, with many users expressing outrage and calling for immediate action against the perpetrators.

In the footage that circulated widely on social media, the attackers can be seen stopping the car in the middle of the road, insisting that Anoop exit the vehicle. When he did not comply, they began throwing stones, resulting in shattered windows and panic inside the car. A woman in the vehicle was heard screaming as she quickly exited, and the motive behind the confrontation remains unclear.

The rise of such incidents has prompted discussions among residents about the need for increased police presence in the area. One local user lamented the lack of police patrols during the night, emphasizing that it is crucial for deterring criminal behavior. Another echoed this sentiment, noting a perceived increase in violent incidents along the Sarjapur Road stretch, particularly around Kasavanahalli, Doddakanneli, and Kaikondrahalli.

In response to public outcry, the Bengaluru police have assured that they are taking the matter seriously and will take appropriate action against those involved. The Bellandur police have acknowledged the incident and are investigating further.

This incident underscores the ongoing concerns regarding public safety in Bengaluru, particularly in relation to road rage and violent confrontations. As urban areas continue to grow, ensuring the safety of citizens on the roads remains a significant challenge for law enforcement and community leaders alike. The call for increased police visibility and preventive measures may become more pressing in light of this alarming event.
