Aparna Vastarey, the beloved voice behind Bengaluru's Namma Metro announcements, passed away at the age of 57. Known for her memorable announcements like “Dayavittu Gamanisi, Mundina Nildana...”, Aparna had been suffering from lung cancer.

Aparna was not only recognized for her contributions to Namma Metro but also for her work as a television actress and radio jockey with All India Radio. Her clear and articulate Kannada made her a household name among metro commuters and television viewers. She also hosted numerous government events, earning praise for her flawless presentation skills.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his condolences on social media, mourning the loss of a multifaceted talent. He noted Aparna's significant impact on Kannada language presentations and her role in various major shows and government functions. The CM extended his sympathy to her family, wishing them strength during this difficult time.

Aparna is survived by her husband and resided in Banashankari. Many of her colleagues from the television and radio industries are expected to attend her final rites, paying their respects to a cherished voice and personality who left an indelible mark on Bengaluru's cultural landscape.
