Police Arrest Juvenile's Father and Grandfather in Suicide Abetment Case
Pune Porsche Crash: More Trouble for Juvenile’s Father and Grandfather as Police Book Them in Suicide Abetment Case
In an escalating legal predicament for the father and grandfather of the juvenile involved in the May 19 Porsche crash in Pune, police have booked both men in a separate case related to the abetment of a businessman's son's suicide. The juvenile's grandfather is currently in judicial custody for allegedly kidnapping and wrongfully confining their family driver, who was coerced to claim he was driving during the fatal accident.
The 17-year-old boy's father, real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, along with his mother, is also in police custody for involvement in swapping the juvenile's blood samples.
The abetment case originated from a complaint filed by D. S. Kature, a construction business owner in Pune's Vadgaon Sheri area, against Vinay Kale. Kature’s son, Shashikant Kature, had taken a loan from Kale for construction work but was unable to repay it on time. Kale allegedly compounded interest and harassed Shashikant, leading to his suicide in January this year. A case was filed against Kale under IPC sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at Chandannagar police station.
"During the investigation, the involvement of the juvenile's father, grandfather, and three others surfaced. We have now added sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC to the case," stated a police officer, without providing further details on their alleged roles.
